The property was vacant for five years until in 2017 the Longos’ received a call saying the property was back on the market. They felt it was fate and’ purchased the abandoned property with a vision of restoring Tamarack to its former glory!
During the beginning stages of renovations and cleaning up the forest, the Longos’ have come across a cemetary dating back to the 1700’s, over 1,000 pieces of Italian marble table tops, lovers names carved into trees and hiking trails. The restaurant and tavern were open Thursday through Sunday with regular entertainment including popular, local band Flatrock and SyFy Networks celebrity Ghost Hunter Stephen Gonsalves hosting a ghost stories in the cemetery.
The intended atmosphere is a little bit of nostalgic Tamarack mixed with the modern Tamarack version. Rustic walls representing a log cabin, exposed wooden beams, vintage furniture and light fixtures with an inviting experience as soon as you walk through the door.
The restaurant and tavern feature gourmet comfort food, locally sourced ingredients, creative cocktails, craft beer, a mature wine list and fresh baked goods. Dinner is served Thursday through Saturday and brunch on Sundays.
